May 3rd and only the second trip of the year.\u00a0 We need to start making up some trips.\u00a0 We did have another great day today, 70\u00b0 air temperature, and a water temperature of 50\u00b0.\u00a0 My traveling companions for the day were:\u00a0 Steve Dunn, Kroggi, Ben, and me.\u00a0 Our water level was a comfortable 7.1 feet, which gave us several sandbars for us to stop and enjoy.\u00a0 The best part of the trip was picking on the new guy–Kroggi.\u00a0 He thinks he is starting to “get” the hang of it, and when he starts to think that, we bring him right back down.\u00a0 Training is difficult for an older person like him \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 We did average 4.1 mph for the entire 12.9 mile trip, which allowed us\u00a0a completion\u00a0time of 3 hours and 11 minutes.<\/p>\n

Our animals of note for the day were several deer running along the side of the river with us, and even one deer swimming right across the river in front of us.\u00a0 You will have to have faith and trust in all of us, because the deer was just out of camera view for a decent picture–but believe us he was there.\u00a0 Many Eagles again, and 1 large Eagles nest with young “chicks” in it.\u00a0 You can see the head of an Eagle chick looking over the side in a couple of the pictures.\u00a0 All had a great time, and we will be back again next week.<\/p>\n
