The start of a new season of kayaking, in spite of the new Pandemic–COVID-19.\u00a0 We are under a ‘Stay at Home” Quarantine, but decided to go, with proper social distancing, and enjoy beautiful day.\u00a0 The 5 people that went, Bill, Teresa, Steve, Tom, and me, are definitely COVID FREE, no one has been anywhere for at least 3 weeks and have been observing their quarantine, so I feel the risk is extremely low.<\/p>\n
We enjoyed a 69\u00b0 day, at least by the time we were finished.\u00a0 The water temperature was at a balmy 44\u00b0, but we did not intend to swim.\u00a0 Everyone was dressed properly in the event of a spill.\u00a0 Water levels was at a perfect 5.8 feet and the current was at 3360 cfs so a nice current, but we needed it pushing into a 30 mph wind most of the way–just good upper body exercise, as we completed our 12.3 mile cruise.\u00a0 In spite of the wind resistance, we still averaged 3.8 mph and finished in a little over 3 hours.<\/p>\n
It was a great day for getting out.<\/p>\n
