5\/03\/2020 Irving to Melrose<\/p>\n
Another beautiful day for paddling.\u00a0 We again waited until Sunday to get the best weather.\u00a0 We all did our \u201csocial distancing\u201d as the year of COVID will be with us for a while.\u00a0 This is our 3rd<\/sup> COVID trip of the year.\u00a0 Mikayla (newbie), Bill and Teresa Peters, Steve Dunn, Tom Hundt, and I, all traveled from Irving to Melrose, a 12.55 mile trip.\u00a0 Our weather was a warm high of 74\u00b0 for the high of the day, and water temperature has warmed up to 56\u00b0.\u00a0 It is getting warm quickly this year.\u00a0 The level was right at a safe 5.8 feet, so we were able to complete our journey at 3.8 mph in 3 hours and 19 minutes plus an additional hour\u2019s worth of breaks and enjoying the sun.<\/p>\n Our Eagle count for the day was much lighter than last week\u2014I think it was simply too windy.\u00a0 We fought 30 plus mile per hour winds a good part of the day\u2014that equals good upper body strengthening.\u00a0 We did see several Eagles, but most were too high to photograph, but I did add in a couple of pictures, even though they are not good pictures.\u00a0 Watch and enjoy the 6 minute video and share a part of our day.<\/p>\n (Disclaimer:\u00a0 Music was selected by Steve Dunn\u2014John Mayall)<\/em><\/p>\n To watch the video click the arrow and then enlarge the screen with the icon in the lower right of the screen.\u00a0 To get back to this page just shrink the page back to normal.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n When viewing the still pictures below, click on them and they will also enlarge and then move through the selection with the arrow on your computer.\u00a0 Enjoy!!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
