6.5.2021\u00a0 Black River:\u00a0 Hunter\u2019s Bridge to Lytle Bay\u00a0 (2.5\u2019\/mile)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trip Number (21-8) <\/strong>The challenge for today was not the river, but the heat–99\u00b0.\u00a0 We did have a good paddle in spite of the heat because the water level was an adequate 4.9 feet, the temperature was a comfortable 70\u00b0 and we had the perfect breeze to make it all tolerable.\u00a0 We enjoyed the company of a few guests with Mark and Michelle returning, along with our regulars: Bill and Teresa, Tom, Steve, Pat. C, along with the appearance of Kathy\u2014whom we have not seen in a while, and then Me.\u00a0 So the 9 of\u00a0 us traveled the 11.6 mile trip at an average speed of 3.4 mph and completed the tour in 3 hours and 22 minutes not counting the 1 hour and 15 minutes we stopped just to enjoy a perfect afternoon.\u00a0 Near the end of the first leg of the trip we were joined by Paul and Jennifer, who were sporting their new kayaks that are making their free time enjoyable.\u00a0 Hopefully we will see them more times on the river, as they really learn to enjoy their new toys.\u00a0 Obviously, we gave them all kinds of advice on kayaking, so they received 20 years\u2019 worth of \u201copinions\u201d and education in about an hour\u2014I am sure they really enjoyed that.\u00a0 I guess I don\u2019t really remember them asking for any advice, BUT, we all shared anyway.<\/p>\n

On our trip we did get to see; Many Eagles, Turtles, and a Snake that joined us for lunch.<\/p>\n
