Trip Number (21-12) What a change a day makes. We went from Class 3 rapids to a very calm relaxing trip on the Black River to day. Our crew was Steve, Gary (another friend of Steve’s), and Me. We traveled the 13.0 miles in less than 3 ½ hours and did take a break for about 45 minutes to enjoy the beautiful weather we had. At these water levels we had the whole river available to us—very ample level at 5.25 feet. Plenty of sandbars to stop on, but none to worry about in the river. Another nice surprise was that this friend of Steve’s could actually paddle and was a pleasure to have on the trip.
Our wildlife for the day was a little light, but we did see 4 Eagles flying high over us and several turtles sunning themselves. Overall a perfect day and very relaxing—as it should be..
