Trip Number (21-18) A nice change of pace today, the last couple of trips have been very fast and even a little danger for the people that have gone swimming on the last trips. The water was flat and glass smooth for this day. The air was a very nice 80° fall day so Pat especially enjoyed this trip. He has never ventured down this section of the river, so he saw a few new things. We had just some of our core group, no travelers that we needed to be concerned about, just a laid back paddle. Our paddlers for the day were; Tom, Pat C., Steve+D, and Me. We traveled our 12.9 miles in a little over 3½ hours of paddling and another 1½ hours of sandbar stops, just to enjoy the day. The season is coming to an end—you can tell the water temperature is dropping and we are seeing signs of fall colors.
Our wildlife for the day included somewhere in excess of 35 Eagle sightings. Most of the Eagles were young and hard to spot until they flew out of the trees at the very last minute—we were surprised several times, but we did get a few good pictures and videos.
