Another beautiful day for a kayak trip. The water temperature was 56 degrees and the river stage was 7.8 feet with the flow at approximately 6000 cfm, which allowed us to cruise at 3.7 mph even without paddling. The trip length is 13 miles. We paddled down the Black River in 65 degree sunny weather, with a some wind at times. A few times the wind was very strong, almost pushing us backwards, but being the strong paddlers that we are we did endure. We had a small crew this weekend, only Bill, Teresa, and myself. All of our friends were busy out of town, or otherwise occupied. We had fun in spite of the size.
Feel free to watch our training video of how to enter and depart from a kayak, as demonstrated by Teresa Peters:
We did in fact see a fox chasing a turkey for “Thanksgiving” Dinner, but the turkey did escape. Other sightings were many Eagles, Duck, and miscellaneous. A good day. Enjoy our pictures.
