9/22/2018 Black River Falls to Irving

The day started out very cold–44°, but did warm up to 64° by the end of our trip.  Getting started was a bit of a challenge, due to the cold.  The sun was very inviting and with the sun it actually was a beautiful day.  We traveled from the City of Black River Falls to Irving in the slowest pace we have had in our past two years.  A total of 4 hours and 10 minutes, but we only paddled 3 hours and 53 minutes, an average moving speed of 3.2 mph–WOW!!  We covered 12.6 miles with water temperatures of 64° at a river stage of 5.4 ft.  Our travelers included a newbie–Dan–Teresa’s brother, Bill, Teresa, Steve, and me.  We think this might be the last trip of the year, but keep holding out for at least 1 more, we will be watching the weather.

Infractions for the day included Steve on his telephone– he has been assessed a 1/4 mile penalty on our next trip.

Scenery for the day included:  Eagles, Turtles, Duck, Vultures, and just a touch of fall color, but not a lot.

NOTE:  IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THIS AS A SLIDESHOW–JUST CLICK ON ANY PICTURE, AND IT WILL ENLARGE AND THEN JUST SCROLL THROUGH THE SHOW USING THE ARROW “KEYS”.  ENJOY.

The videos have to be played outside of the slideshow–I am working on figuring that out.

Any picture that you want a copy of, just “right-click” on the picture and then “save as” wherever you would like.

Steve is ready to go…..
