Here it is the second week of June and we are only doing our fourth trip of the season – pretty poor. Last week the weatherman lied to us and said thundershowers and it was sunny day and nice. Well today we are starting out with an 87⁰ forecast and it is all sun. A beautiful day. The water level has dropped to 5.5 feet. But the water temperature has risen nicely to 70⁰, a big improvement. Our travelers for the day are, Ben, Bill and Teresa, Froggy, and myself. The current has also dropped significantly, so we had to paddle much harder than normal, but we still did a nice moving average speed of 4.3 miles per hour for our 12.7 mile trip.
Our secenery for the day was very light on wild life, except for Kroggy deciding to go swimming a couple of times around the rapids, but the water temperature was inviting to him. All we really got to see today was a beautiful river and sunny skies and nature at it’s finest. As they say—a great trip no matter what the conditions.
