The day today was again, perfect. The River Stage was at 5.6 feet, so plenty of sand bars and other social occasions. Temperatures reached a high of 84° and the water temperature has risen 12° in the last 6 days to 66°. We don’t need the big water boots and rubber pants any longer. This water can be waded in, and maybe in a few short weeks, we will actually swim. We can always hope. The water was very calm, little wind, and sunny.
The crew today was up to 8 kayakers. Bill and Teresa Peters, Steve Dunn, Tom Hundt, Pat Stephens, Mick Connors, Jack Miller, and Me. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the company of the newbies. The wild life this week consisted of several Eagles, some flying over our heads deciding if we were edible, we saw Geese again and lots of turtles. The world is coming alive.
As always, it was another great day.

6-2-2018 Bill canceled trip account lack of appreciation for a perfect day on the river. Old work aquaintance from Nebraska passing through with his wife and double kayak on the roof. Wanted to do the Mississippi. I loaded the little yellow otter and we went from lytle to red pines in a little over 2 hours. They loved it!! No picture but a good time was had and the weather was gorgeous Steve
