6/30/2018 Fund Raiser Gourmet Trip

“And the Winners Are”, Todd and Chris Olson and their family.  These folks purchased our kayak trip to support the Holmen Community Center.  The money will be used for a very good cause in the Holmen area.  The 12 mile trip itself was from Hunter’s Bridge to Lytle Bay, on a beautiful day with the air temperature hanging right at 98° again today, but we had a nice breeze so it made for a comfortable trip.  The water temperature was again at 80°, so we could enjoy a nice short swim for those that chose to do so–but their were a couple who did not choose to do so,  but did anyway.  That is a simple fact of kayaking.  It is not a question of “if”, but “when” you will get an opportunity to enjoy the water.  The river stage had dropped slightly but still remained at 4.3 feet so we did not have to walk–if you were paying attention.  We were led today by a “Tough Mudder” in Emma Olson, who ran us ragged at 4.0 miles per hour–a very good pace for non-kayakers.  The rest of the family did manage to keep up, but Jessica, Todd, Chris,  and Justin were slightly pushed by the family competition.  The Gourmet lunch prepared and served but Bill & Teresa Peters, along with Roz Hundt, consisted of Portobello Mushrooms, Fresh Fruit, Several Salads, and fine desserts all presented on a table clothed serving table.  This is a fantastic meal, and was enjoyed by out guests.  We– your hosts — all enjoyed having you along for our day and hope you all enjoyed the trip, and felt that you spent your money wisely.  Thank you.
