Well we took the long route today down the Root River, all the way to Rushford from Whalen–16 miles, with the best finish of any trip–over the dam. The weather was a nice 72°, the water stage was at 4.0 feet but was a cool 62°, so fall is in the air. The leaves are starting to turn in a few places, so you can see it is happening. We, Bill, Teresa, Steve, and I traveled the tour at 3.8 mph and just had a great day with the rapids, and a few tricky places to avoid the rocks, but nothing for the pros that we are :).
We had 21 Eagle sightings and many gaggles of geese–another sign of fall. A great day for all.
