9.5.19 Root River (Whalen to Peterson)

Today was another great day on the river–and we had new friends to play with, Ken and Patty, long lost cousins of Teresa joined the crew of Bill, Teresa, Steve, and Me.  We started out on our 11 mile tour with water levels at 4.3 feet and 61° for the water temperature.  Our air was a comfortable 71° and mostly sunny skies for the day.  We cruised along at a wild 3.3 mph and everything was going just fine until Patty thought we were going too slow so she decided to swim, because she thought it would be faster.  She did enjoy her swim through the trees on the river and came back out with a very good attitude about her mishap, oh, and she was not hurt either.

Today we had 42 or 43 Eagle sightings–somewhat in dispute, because there were so many we kind of lost track, we had Eagles everywhere.  I did get a couple of decent pictures of them, but mostly they were soaring over us and never could get those pictures.  We also saw our gaggle of geese and got Dan all excited to start hunting.  We all had a good time and out guests said they enjoyed themselves and also enjoyed the scenery, and I know that our professional guide crew enjoyed having them share our day.  Come and visit again!!
