7/25/2020 Black River Hunter’s Bridge to Lytle Bay

7.25.2020 Black River (Hunters Bridge to Lytle Bay)

Today’s trip was a little light on excitement.  It was too hot 91° with heat index of 105° so even the birds were not flying.  We saw only 1 young Eagle, and no other wildlife all day, which is unusual.  The water was extremely calm, glass smooth, with a temperature of 74°.  The river stage was an adequate 4.7 feet, but was still quite shallow when we got below Tank Creek.  Our 12 mile trip included Bill, Teresa, Victor, Tom, and Me.  We also had Roz, a Special Driver that Chauffeured the trailer and us for the day.  The Crew was light due to some illness and schedule conflicts for the day, but we did start out with some Friends from St. Elizabeth and they paddled with us for a while and then we all went along at different paces.

The commentary for this trip is this short video, because there was nothing new, no mishaps, no mistakes, no wildlife, just some pretty straight forward paddling.
